It's official. We're married!

 

 

After going on vacation to celebrate our mutual birthday's the previous three years, we decided to stay home this year and celebrate in Toronto. This became the perfect cover to plan a surprise engagement proposal, pop up wedding and honeymoon. Here's how things went down:

 

The Paris flight and accomodations had been booked from Friday, October 24th to Friday, October 31st so the proposal had to happen on the evening of the 23rd. With no plans in place for our birthday celebration, something needed to be set up to keep Carly from becoming suspicious. This is where the spa treatment idea came from and ultimately became the location of the proposal.

Once out later that evening for a celebratory dinner, it was explained to Carly that everything needed to get married the following morning had been set up and was ready to go. We just needed to decide if we wanted to go ahead with it. It did not take long to make this decision.

The next morning we obtained our marriage license from City Hall and welcomed the Officiant and 5 friends to our home for a short and sweet ceremony. Once complete, it became known that we were going to celebrate our Honeymoon in Paris and that we were leaving that night.

The proposal, wedding and beginning of the honeymoon all occurred within 24 hours and was a complete surprise to Carly.
